Sie dient der genauen Identifikation von Websites und wird umgangssprachlich auch als \u201eInternetadresse\u201c bezeichnet. URLs haben die Hauptfunktion, Websites zug\u00e4nglich zu machen, indem sie wie ein Wegweiser zu einer Website f\u00fchren. Indem Internetnutzende also die URL einer Website in einem Browser eingeben, kommen sie in der Regel zur richtigen Website, da jede URL nur einmal vergeben ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>URLs spielen aber nicht nur im Internet, sondern auch innerhalb eines internen Netzwerks eine Rolle. Denn auch der Verzeichnis-Pfad zu einem bestimmtem Ordner wird als URL bezeichnet.
